Treatment of unstable distal clavicle fractures (Neer type IIb): a modified system using a miniature locking plate with a single button

Distal clavicle fractures are common in patients with shoulder injuries. We retrospectively evaluated the clinical outcomes of a novel fixation technique using miniature locking plate single button distal associated coracoclavicular ligament disruption. The study involved seven follow-up period 12 months. All were diagnosed type IIb according to Neer classification. fracture was fixed plate, and ligaments reconstructed button. Functional assessed at final visit. At 1-year follow-up, all had achieved radiographic union. There no cases nonunion or osteolysis. mean Constant score 88 ± 5.13 (range, 78–93); Disabilities Arm, Shoulder Hand 19.17 7.70 11.67–25); University California Los Angeles 30 2.52 25–33). In summary, internal reconstruction is reliable surgical for restoring stability fractures.
